Personal Loans made Easy!

Frequently asked Questions

Frequently asked Questions

We’ve made the process as easy as possible. Simply complete your request through our online application and we will take care of the rest.

Should you have completed your request before 16:00 on a business day (Monday to Friday), you would under normal circumstances start receiving feedback on your personal loan the following business day.

However, as we do use various credit providers and due to process times and delays outside of our control, we advise to allow up to five (5) business days.

Once you have accepted a personal loan offer from one of our credit providers, they will inform you of any time frames, but normally you would have the funds paid into your bank account with forty-eight (48) hours.

We do not perform any credit checks on clients ourselves, however, all of our credit providers do both affordability and credit checks.

For your personal loan request to be accepted by most if not all of our credit providers there are some requirements that need to be met;

  • You are between the ages of eighteen (18) and sixty-five (65).
  • You are permanently employed at your current employer for more than three (3) months.
  • You earn a minimum monthly gross income of at least R5000.
  • You have your own bank account where your salary is paid into.

Although we have built great relationships with all of our credit providers over the years, it does not mean that all of our clients will receive a personal loan offer.

All of our credit providers adhere to responsible lending practices and as such may not give a personal loan to certain applicants.

Credit providers may refuse to accept or process applicants that;

  • Are currently under Debt Review, Debt Administration, or Debt Counseling.
  • Have outstanding Defaults or Judgements against them.
  • Are in arrears with any of their accounts.

Lastly, approval for a cash loan is subject to the discretion of the credit provider.

Apart from your monthly repayment done directly to the credit provider, there are no fees or charges owed to SA Cash Loans. Our personal loan service is, and will always be, 100% free of charge to all clients.

Depending on your credit profile, you may qualify for a personal loan up to R150000. Should a credit provider be willing to assist you with a personal loan, they will directly discuss with you the amount you qualify for.

The repayment term will be determined based on the amount of your personal loan offer which will be relayed to you by the credit provider during the quotation.

With that said, the terms are between six (6) months minimum and sixty (60) months maximum.

The interest rate varies from applicant to applicant and determined by the credit provider.

Should you receive a personal loan offer, the agent in contact with yourself will provide the interest rate.

We do assist self-employed applicants and most of our credit providers do assist foreigners as well, as long as you are in possession of a valid South African ID.

Unfortunately, at this point, we do not have any credit providers that assist pensioners with personal loans.

During the initial application process, you do not need to submit any documentation. As each provider may require different documentation, should they require any, they will request it directly from you.

With that said, here are some general documents you could get ready;

  • Certified copy of your South African ID.
    Please note that a driver’s license is not acceptable.
  • Up to three (3) months’ recent bank statements.
  • A recent document confirming your proof of residence.

During the process, we will send correspondence to the email address you have provided during the application process informing you of the current status.

However, you may follow up by sending an email to or using our contact us form.

Please do take note that some credit providers do not provide us with real-time responses and we may not be able to give a 100% accurate response to your request.

In short, an unsecured loan is when there is no collateral given for the personal loan, whereas with a secured loan you would put up collateral such as your vehicle or home.

Feel free to read more about unsecured vs secured loans here for a brief, but more in-depth explanation on the differences.

The terms and conditions of the personal loan are determined by the credit provider and will be discussed between you and the credit provider.

However, SA Cash Loans also have our own Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy which you should read.
